Buying Smartphone?

Smart phones are big hit from mid of 2009 and till date. We are seeing many manufactures in Smart phone production and related support services in recent months. Seeing the increasing demand for smart phones, Nokia has launched a low cost smart phone Nokia C5, a slim, sleek look geared for mobile social networking.

The handset features direct access to favorite contacts on the device home-screen and Facebook status updates visible from the phonebook. In addition to social networking, users have access to Ovi Mail, Nokia Messaging, Ovi Maps, a 3.2 megapixel camera, a 2GB memory card and high-speed mobile broadband. Currently it is available in white or warm grey with a 2.2-inch screen.

Before you buy any Smart phone, I would like to suggest checking these criteria for performance benefits.

The CPU – Usually there are ARM Processers in Mobile handsets, check the Mhz and understand the basics. There are many websites available for comparison.

The ROM and RAM – Yes, the mobile device is also having these Memory stuff – My E63 is having 256 MB ROM and 128 MB RAM. This is a very important criteria in Smart Phones because it support multi-process application executions.

The OS – There are Symbian OS, Microsoft Windows Mobile, Android, Palm OS, Black Berry, IPhone and Maemo Linux. Choose the OS best for your requirements – this helps in finding free or paid applications you may need in your Smart Phone.

Size, Weight and Keyboard – I suggest going with light weight phones, range from 120g to 160g. The Keyboard should help you to type fast & error free. I personally suggest full-qwerty keyboard, but many of my friends having touch screen. It is totally your comfort level.

Just keep these points while planning for a smart phone …!! Enjoy the advantages.
